Mixed Media
(1 Credit) Students will be introduced to multiple artistic mediums such as embroidery, carving (stamp work), sculpting, etc.; Students will create a complete portfolio based on instructional assignments throughout the course. Outcome: Students will demonstrate the basics process and be able to identify how texture, patterns, rhythm, balance create aesthetics and cohesion.

Nov. 30:
Sketch Your Classmate
Using the skills that we have developed the semester, sketch each one of your classmates in 3 poses standing, sitting, etc. (You should have small 15 sketches when done.) These sketches should be quick sketches and please label the drawing of each person. At the end of class, please take a picture your drawings and upload them to the assignment.
Dec. 1:
Paint your Classmate, small canvas.
Paint a small portrait of one of your classmates. Start by taking one of the poses from the sketches done on Tuesday and paint it.
Dec 2. Paint Your Classmate, Large canvas
Paint a small portrait of one of your classmates. Start by taking one of the poses from the sketches done on Tuesday and paint it. Ask the person being painted for feedback. Do they have a favorite color? Maybe use that color as the background of the portrait. Have fun!
